Glasakademin offers a meeting point on the Internet for everyone who is working with or is interested in experimental glass work. The website gives a presentation of the organization, its members, activities and regulations. We also publish news from the glass world, with reports from congresses, exhibitions, awards and other current events. We think it is important to always offer an up-to-date calendar.
One of the first goals for Glasakademin was to work for the establishment of a Swedish studio glass museum. Works donated from the members of Glasakademin made it possible to open a permanent studio glass exhibition at Smålands Museum - Sweden's Museum of Glass in Växjö, in May 2008 (see photo's from the opening to the left).
Glasakademin is helping Smålands Museum - Sweden's Museum of Glass develop their studio glass collection. The archives of Glasakademin can be found at Smålandsmuseum and they are open to the public. More information can be found at www.smalandsmuseum.se
